About NAMI-BC
National Alliance
on Mental Illness of Berkshire County formed in 1984 when a small
group of parents, who initially joined together offering one another
support and encouragement, decided to become part of the NAMI movement.
NAMI-BC was initially part of NAMI-Western Mass., becoming independent
and incorporating in 1998.
NAMI-BC has
become a valuable resource to Berkshire County families who have
a loved one with a mental illness. We receive referrals from local
agencies, the State Department of Mental Health, local service providers
and agencies, and of course other families.
